Leszek Zadlo was born in Poland (which he left 1966) and studied in Cracow, Vienna and Graz. He's a saxophone teacher of Jazz and improvisation at the conservatories in Munich and Würzburg. His music convinces through conceptionial and emotional completeness which enables him to be a very individual, modern and up-to-date Jazz musician. His improvisations are full of contrasts, Joe Henderson described it as “very interesting music”. The tenor player tries new sounds on the saxophone, but one can feel and hear that he is also aware of the tradition of his instrument. His music is also very emotional thanks to a very affective playing concerning the lyrical as well as dramatical aspects of Jazz. His music is outstanding because he is able to combine feeling with the sound of his music. Zadlo has been leading this ensemble since 1972. He has already played with Elvin Jones, Dexter Gordon, Jimmy Heath, Art Farmer, Harold Rubin, Joachim Kühn, George Russel. the-European Jazz Quintet, Polski Jazz Ensemble, Slight Hampton Bigband and many other musicians and bands.
has recorded more than 70 records for example Thoughts, Breath, Time-Emit. Space, Parpar (recorded in Israel) and many more.
Cardoso was born in Brazil and also teaches at the conservatory in
Munich. He studied Jazz in Germany after he had finished his classical
studies in Brazil. Cardoso is very famous for his versatility which has
been appreciated by Art Farmer, Mal Waldron. Archie Shepp and others who
engaged for tours all over the world. His very rhythmical and swinging
acoustic style adds a very powerful sound and time feeling to the ensemble.
